Dr. Haresh Mehta is the Director of Interventional & Structural Cardiology at S.L. Raheja Hospital - A Fortis Associate. In addition, we hold affiliations with Mumbai’s leading medical institutions.
TAVR, or Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement, is a less invasive alternative to open-heart surgery for patients with severe aortic valve narrowing. Instead of opening the chest, doctors insert the new valve through a small tube, usually via the leg. Recovery is faster, with many patients going home within 1–3 days and returning to normal activities much sooner.
MitraClip
The MitraClip is a minimally invasive treatment for mitral valve leakage, also known as mitral regurgitation. Instead of open-heart surgery, a small clip is placed on the valve through a thin tube inserted via the leg. It helps the valve close more completely, reducing the leak. Most patients return home in 1–2 days and experience a quicker, easier recovery.
